CHRISTIAN RASMUSSEN, NO. 20 GUYCARE CHEVROLET

OF NOTE: 

• With many laps of experience around the Indianapolis Motor Speedway to his credit, Christian Rasmussen began the Sonsio Grand Prix with strong practice sessions. While he started 20th, he deftly worked his way through a messy opening lap to gain four positions. An issue on his second pit stop dropped him to the last car on the lead lap, but he persevered and picked up positions when he had the opportunity. He worked his way back up to where he started and finished 20th.

OF NOTE: 

• Rinus VeeKay advanced to the second round of qualifying and started 12th in this afternoon’s Sonsio Grand Prix. Despite the No. 21 Chevrolet being struck from several angles in Turn 1 of the first lap, VeeKay quickly worked his way into the Top 10. An issue with his second set of Firestone Firehawks necessitated an additional pit stop, which dropped VeeKay one lap behind the field. He continued to the finish, taking the checkered flag in the 26th position.
