Sarah Fisher Hartman Racing (SFHR) is making its way across the United States border for this weekend’s IZOD IndyCar Series double-header race on the streets of Toronto, Canada.

After driving on four consecutive oval tracks, SFHR’s sophomore driver Josef Newgarden will switch his driving style for the Honda Indy Toronto’s 11-turn, 1.75-mile temporary street circuit.

“IndyCar is very fast paced and is always switching styles from what you have to do from a driving and engineering standpoint,” Newgarden said. “We’re back on a street course which is very different than an oval, so we have to get our minds back to being more aggressive when it comes to driving and car setup. The style switch will be tough for everyone but that’s what IndyCar is all about.”

After spending the past two IndyCar race weekends in rural areas, the driver of the No. 67 SFHR Dallara/Honda/Firestone car is looking forward to spending time in Toronto, a city populated with more than 2 million people.

“Toronto is a very lively city,” Newgarden said. “It’s filled with a lot of IndyCar fans and it’s a great place to race because of the atmosphere. I enjoy driving in Toronto. It’s a technically challenging course and enjoyable to turn laps on.”

The Honda Indy Toronto is the second double-header race on the 2013 IZOD IndyCar Series schedule. The first back-to-back race weekend took place in Detroit.

“Two races is always fun,” Newgarden said. “I enjoyed the double-header at Detroit. You get twice the mileage and it also gives the fans a couple of races to watch instead of just one.”

Newgarden, who is coming off of a fifth-place finish at Pocono Raceway, is looking to build on his team’s momentum.

“When you get momentum you always want to try and use it to your advantage,” Newgarden said. “We are happy with our points results from last weekend but we really have to score solid points all the way until the end of the year and try and climb up [the standings] a little bit.”

Newgarden holds 15th place in the IZOD IndyCar Series Championship standings with eight races remaining on the IndyCar schedule.
