Sarah Fisher, co-owner of Sarah Fisher Hartman Racing (SFHR), lent a helping hand in the final day of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway’s newly revised road course paving project on Nov. 19.

The $5-million project will be used for the inaugural Grand Prix of Indianapolis IndyCar Series race on Saturday, May 10, 2014. The 2.439-mile permanent road course features more speed and hard braking zones to create more passing and competitive racing. The project took 63 days to complete, with a construction crew of 70 members. Fisher traded an IndyCar for a two-seat paver to help the construction crew lay the final stretch of pavement.

“They are doing a really accurate job and it’s great to see,” Fisher said. “That last little stretch of pavement going down on the new course – it’s very special. The Indianapolis Motor Speedway always holds a special place in my heart.”
